Are you interested in working in the public interest/civil rights field this summer? Wondering how to find funding for volunteer or internship positions in those fields? Then make plans to attend our information session on March 1 from 12:30-1:15 PM in Room 103 where we will introduce you to the Calvin Patterson Civil Rights Summer Scholarships/Stipends Program.
Prominent civil rights attorney Tommy Warren will be here to talk about the scholarship he established with his wife Kathy Villacorta that provides summer financial support for Florida State law students who demonstrate a significant interest in and commitment to protecting and furthering the civil rights of women, African Americans, and the LGBT community, including but not limited to, the areas of employment, health, voting, education or housing.
Past scholarship recipients will also be in attendance to discuss how they spent last summer in various internships including Legal Services of North Florida, National Fair Housing Alliance, and the Harvard Legal Aid Program. Lunch will be provided so please reserve your seat (and lunch) HERE.
