Join us for FSU Aging - Guest Lecture Series as we welcome Dr. Christopher S. Brunt for a presentation entitled: The Economics of Long-Term Care: Care Incentives, Financial Pressure, and Quality Implications in Nursing Homes. We discuss the financial aspects of long-term care (LTC) work, its funding, and its sustainability. We discuss the key components of LTC, its formal and informal costs, insurance structures, and payer sources. Drawing on two recent papers, Dr. Brunt will share insights on how quality ratings shape consumer demand and identifies the causal impact of nursing home acquisitions on staffing levels and patient outcomes.
