Data @ Your Desk Virtual Workshop: Introduction to Jupyter Notebooks

The Jupyter Notebook is an interactive computing environment that you can use to create that contain code, equations, visualizations, and text. Jupiter is populer with running Python but it also suppports R, Julia, and several other languages. Jupyter Notebook is popular among data science enthusiasts specially because the ease of building workflows and the ability to visualize the output after each step.

In this workshop, we will discuss how to install and run Jupyter Notebook on HPC using Open OnDemand and few use cases. Other topics this workshop aims to cover basic usage such as running code, markdown cells, inserting graphs, images and creating tables, exporting your notebook in different formats. We will also discuss some data science applications as well as using Jupyter in an HPC environment with more than one node doing calculations
