FSUCares, SAAAPA, and AMWA are proud to present the first annual 5k for the Homeless Outreach Medicine and Education (HOME) Street Med Program and I Support The Girls Organization. We would love for FSUCOM students and people in the Tallahassee community to be a part of this 5k! The 5k will take place on September 25th at 9am starting at Langford Green at the FSU campus.
The funds raised from this 5k will be given to both the Homeless Outreach Medicine and Education (HOME) Street Medicine Program and I Support the Girls. The Street Medicine program at the FSU College of Medicine provides direct healthcare, health screenings, resources, and supplies to the unsheltered homeless population in Leon County. This care will improve patient outcomes by focusing on primary care, health education, and prevention, and reduce unnecessary emergency room utilization. The I Support the Girls foundation distributes essential supplies and provides support to women experiencing homelessness, victims of domestic violence, and victims of sex trafficking.
