Join FSU College of Social Work's Center for the Study and Promotion of Communities, Families, and Children on Saturday, November 9th at Bay District School Media Center in Panama City, FL from 8:00am-12:00pm for the Caregiver Journey of Hope free workshop event being offered to teachers and staff of Bay District Schools with stipends provided!
Children take cues on how to respond to emergencies from their teachers and caregivers, yet often these caregivers are personally affected by the crisis. This forces teachers, staff, administrators, and caregivers to juggle many responsibilities as stress levels rise. Caregiver Journey of Hope is a workshop developed by Save the Children, a global organization, in response to the impact of Hurricane Katrina on individuals and the community. In this Caregiver workshop, attend to your emotional well-being by processing and coping with challenging life experiences to support the recovery of children and families you serve effectively. Learn about stress reactions, enhance coping skills, build trust and community cohesion, and identify individual and community strengths and resources to reach defined goals. Working through all of this together opens the door for action to improve the community and school conditions and creates a stable, supportive learning environment for children’s healing, protection, and care.
