Copy editing is the process of revising written material to improve readability and fitness for its purpose, as well as ensuring that text is free of grammatical and factual errors. One of the best ways to become better at proposal writing is to have your work critiqued by a professional copy editor. However this can be expensive, especially for research and creative proposals.
This workshop will follow Mike Mitchell from FSU’s Office of Research Development as he copy edits the proposals of two current doctoral students LIVE during the workshop and discusses the reasoning behind each edit, providing examples to improve your own proposals, without the need to hire an editor.
