Creative Caregiving for Older Adults with Dementia: Building on the Strengths of the Family

Please join us for a free Facebook Live Workshop, “Creative Caregiving for Older Adults with Dementia: Building on the Strengths of the Family,” 7:00 PM-8:15 PM (Eastern Time) Thursday, November 17, 2022. The workshop offers practical information about how, where, and when to use creative caregiving approaches. Examples of common caregiving situations that require creativity include wandering, dealing with anger and agitation, responding to unrealistic thinking, and loss of bladder or bowel control. Our featured presenters will share their stories about the creative strategies they developed to negotiate challenging caregiving situations and how their families worked together to improve their loved ones with dementia’s quality of life. They will provide easy-to-use tips on good observation and listening skills, sticking with the positive, thinking outside the box, and honoring family strengths. In addition, information about free caregiver skills training and support programs, and dementia care resources will be discussed. Elder care professionals, future caregivers, and other interested community members are also strongly encouraged to join the workshop.
