Data @ Your Desk Virtual Workshop: Survey Design

FSU Libraries Presents: Data @ Your Desk Workshop Series

Survey Research Series: Survey Design

This 4-part series on survey research provides attendees with the background, tools, and critical thinking skills to build and conduct successful surveys from start to finish.

For surveys to deliver credible and useful data, they need to start with good survey design, piloting, and a strategy for analysis. Using closed-ended questions, surveys produce quantitative data to reveal interesting trends and, from open-ended questions, qualitative data to provide examples and quotes to make the data more meaningful. This session discusses the careful planning involved to craft survey questions that will produce useful data, to avoid breaking the rules of writing good questions, and to make the survey clear and engaging.
