Discover DH: Web Scraping with R

In this session, participants will learn how to conduct web scraping, which allows users to automatically download large amounts of data from the web. In this session, we will learn how to read HTML for the purposes of scraping targeted information from web pages. We will also learn about how to manipulate URLs using query parameters, to bulk download search results pages. While web scraping can be conducted with many languages, we will focus on doing it in R. However the skills learned in this session can be transferred for use in other contexts, like Python.
