This colloquium will examine the history of information technology, or technologies, in the ancient Greek world. It brings together a group of internationally-recognized experts—including papyrologists, epigraphists, and ancient historian—to consider how, why, and in what ways the ancient Greeks organized, recorded, disseminated, and preserved information.
The colloquium will be held in-person in the Broad Auditorium of the Claude Pepper Center. We invite guests to join us after the first day for a reception, held in the Beth Moor Lounge in Longmire, from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM. Coffee and snacks will be provided throughout the colloquium duration, and a complimentary continental breakfast will be provided on Saturday, November 9th, from 8:15 AM to 9:00 AM, in the lobby of Broad Auditorium.
