Sculptor Carole Garmon will join us in the FAR and Away Residency from October 29 –November 2. Carole will host a FAR Research Night on November 1st at 7PM for a public presentation of her work. The FAR & Away series is a new approach to working with guest artists at the Facility for Arts Research. The residency provides the opportunity to seek interdisciplinary partners from across the university who share research interests. By triangulating the collaboration between the FAR & Away Resident, FSU scholars, and FAR artists, we aim to initiate creative conversations that lead to unexpected output.Carole Garmon holds an M.F.A. and a B.F.A. in sculpture from Virginia Commonwealth University. She has taught at the University of Mary Washington since 1998 and is a recipient of UMW’s Outstanding Young Faculty Member Award.
