Adapted from the short story of the same name, Viviane, originally from Guadeloupe, lives alone in an apartment in a Parisian housing project. Her mother, who had stayed in Guadeloupe, begins experiencing health issues, so Viviane moves her mother across the ocean, into her apartment. Her mother, who had been virtually isolated in Guadeloupe, has trouble cohabitating with her daughter. Viviane gradually introduces her mother into a strange new world, overgrown with tropical plant roots: A forest with no way out.

The film will show at 5pm followed by a Q&A with the author who wrote the short story that inspired the film, Gisèle Pineau
