The FSU Medical Response Unit (MRU) is a basic life support / quick response unit that responds to all 911 medical calls on the main FSU campus during MRU hours of operation. The Unit is comprised of student volunteers and offers medical care (in conjunction with local EMS and other Public Service agencies) at the First Responder level free of charge to students, faculty, staff, & patrons of Florida State University. All proceeds of the race go toward maintaining the high standard of care the Medical Response Unit extends to the FSU community. In order to adhere to University Policies regarding COVID-19, participants of all ages are welcome to come walk, run, and/or compete for some great prizes for our winners in a virtual 5K! In doing so, participants can join whenever and wherever they want while following social distancing regulations and ensure the safety of all. We thank everyone that has continued to support our organization through our annual 5K and we look forward to seeing many new faces join our upcoming event!

Although the currently plan for our 5K next year is to host an entirely virtual race, we are requesting the physical space of Langford Green/Unconquered statue to allow our internal MRU responder 5K committee to have a dedicated visual site to livestream prizes & special features from on race day, the site that has been consistently associated with our race the last few years. The total 25 attendees reflects the potential number of internal organization members who may gather on site (with social distancing precautions in place), and this site area will not be open or advertised to any registered runners (reflected in the total of 0 for public attendees). If the University changes their guidelines concerning 5K races/events in the Spring to safely allow for a larger public crowd to gather, we will re-evaluate and update the Event Permit committee with any proposed changes at the appropriate time.

Come to the only race on campus where you don't have to be the fastest to win! ALL PARTICIPANTS who check in on race day will receive a raffle entry that can be used to win many different prizes donated from our awesome sponsors!
