Spatial Data is an important part of research ;it supplies the where of events and the location of data points. There are a variety of repositories and websites that allow everyone to find local, state, country, and global pieces of geographic information. Additionally it  is important to understand the different file types this information produces and how you can use the information provided. Participants will learn to navigate and download files from: Data.gov, USGS GIS Data repository, and the Official State of Florida Geography Data Portal.
