In the humanities, we work with many types of research materials, from images to text, and in formats from .pdf to .xlsx to .jpeg. Organizing these varied research materials can be a challenge, especially when we need to keep track of multiple versions of the same file. In this session we will cover some of the tools and best practices for organizing your varied research materials. We will conduct a short demonstration of Zotero for citation management, Tropy for organizing images and GitHub for versioning files. We will also go over some best practices for organizing your file system and some tips for naming your files and folders on your computer.
