This course is intended to be an introduction to data at FSU, geared toward new employees or employees that have recently had a significant change in their job duties.  It provides an overview of data, the types of data collected at the university, and the sources through which staff and/or faculty may access it. This session will also provide an overview of the tools that professionals at FSU can use to shape, transform, and visualize data to answer questions about the institution or particular departments/offices within. Sources and tools reviewed include Oracle Business Intelligence (OBI), Qualtrics, Excel, Power BI, Salesforce, and more. As an overview course, Introduction to Data at FSU is recommended as the first course employees take before completing the Excel, OBI, Power BI or similar data-focused training sessions.
