Conducting a comprehensive literature review is important for graduate students to identify research problems and questions to advance their theses and dissertations. This session will cover strategies and best practices for searching scholarly resources, information organization, and identifying relevant studies to support research. 

This session is designed for graduate students in biology, geology, atmospheric sciences, oceanography, environmental sciences, and earth science-related programs.

Topics: selecting databases for your topic, writing and keeping track of your searches, types of literature reviews, and other helpful tips and tricks

The databases selected for instruction may vary depending on the needs and research topics of registrants in each session, but they will likely include the Web of Science, Natural Science Collection, and other subject-specific databases.

We’ll work through some foundational strategies for searching scientific literature to develop research questions and advance research in your discipline. Bring your research topics and questions!
