March 1-2, 2024 in the Nancy Smith Fichter Dance Theatre, 3 MFA candidates present their choreographic projects in partial fulfillment of the Masters of Fine Arts degree in Dance. The event is FREE and open to the public. Doors open at 7:00 pm.

Choreographed and directed by Lyndon Bonnett is a quartet of dancers embarking on a journey through improvisation and choreographic performance, combating the pressures and expectations that stem from self-imposed protectionism, fear, and performance anxiety.

is a contemporary ballet piece that draws on classic form and technique. The piece integrates concepts from virtual art and geometric shapes to reimagine classic principles, forms, steps, and embodied positions. Elements of projections and improvisation are utilized to explore movement language and design.

IFE DUDU
Director: Sherrod Reid is an abstract, four-part episodic performance that illuminates Sherrod's personal journey of love conveyed through culture and tradition. In collaboration with eight talented dancers, this performance provides the audience with a distinctive perspective on love, delving into themes of family, self-love, relationship, and community. Over the course of a two-year exploration, Sherrod has artfully incorporated gestures, behavioral patterns, Trinidadian folk movement aesthetics, slangs, conversational nuances, and improvisation to authentically convey the essence of love in this artistic culmination.
