Serhiy Kvit, the president of the National University of Kyiv Mohyla Academy and former Ukrainian Minister of Education and Science, will speak at Florida State University about the efforts to ensure freedom of speech in Ukraine, strengthen independent journalism and combat the Russian propaganda machine. 

The lecture, "Narratives at War: Ukraine's Media, Russian Propaganda and Political Culture," is sponsored by the College of Social Sciences and Public Policy's Anderson-Ashby Lectureship on Public Policy Journalism, The Ukraine Task Force, FSU's Learning Systems Institute and the Center for Global Engagement's Engage Your World Speaker Series. 

The event, which is free and open to the public, will take place at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, November 20th, at The Globe Auditorium, 110 S. Woodward Ave. A pre-lecture reception will take place at 5 p.m.
