About this Event
The Public Health Professions Conference is a free event for FSU students that will discuss the wide array of careers within public health, representing this year's theme: ‘A Multidisciplinary Field’. Through this conference, the entire FSU student body would have the opportunity to gain a more comprehensive understanding of the multifaceted nature of public health. The goal of the Public Health Professions Conference is to unite, inform, and provide resources to students from health and related fields. Dissemination of health education and resources is vital to having a knowledgeable and healthy population of students. We will achieve this goal through
seminars, a tabling hour, and a networking event.
Since public health is such a diverse workforce, there will be a broad range of areas for every member of the student body to learn about. Multiple speakers with different health careers and backgrounds will introduce students to new health topics and inspire students to consider new careers. Each speaker will be organized by sessions, the conference having multiple sessions throughout the day. This event also has a component that focuses on professional development. The tabling hour (which will double as a lunch hour) will allow conference participants to interact with health organizations on campus as well as businesses and agencies in the local community. This will allow participants to learn about volunteer opportunities within local community health agencies. The networking hour at the end of the conference will allow participants another opportunity to connect with speakers, other health professionals, and peers to expand their network.
