Racism Awareness Week (RAW) is a week-long event dedicated to bringing awareness to the current racial issues in society as they relate to medicine. The goal is to open discussions regarding history, current events, and how we can progress in the future. The week, sponsored by the College of Medicine will host a talk by Jessica Pryce, director of the Florida Institute for Child Welfare, on what implicit biases are and how we can become aware of them. Pryce has done extensive research on race, social work and child welfare.
