This session provides an introduction to systematic reviews and the Covidence screening software.

 

Learning objectives: 

 

  • Systematic Reviews 
    • Define systematic reviews and differentiate them from other review types 
    • Identify the steps of a systematic review  
    • List the members of a systematic review team and explain why each is needed  
    • Locate appropriate databases and associated thesauri by review subject  
    • Assemble a beginning search with keyword and thesauri terms  
    • Use at least two new systematic review tools and appraise their value and limitations  
  • Covidence:  
    • Locate the Covidence research guide and link on the A-Z databases page  
    • Describe the uses for Covidence in the systematic review process  
    • Explain how to use Covidence in conjunction with a citation management program, e.g., EndNote or Zotero
