Intro to ChemDraw (10:00 - 11:15 am)
Dirac Instruction Room
ChemDraw is a powerful tool that allows users to create and edit chemical structures for use in publications, classroom materials, and research. This workshop will provide an introduction to some of ChemDraw’s basic features, including how to draw and manipulate simple chemical structures using various tools.
Exploring the Open Science Framework (11:30 am - 12:15 pm)
Dirac Conference Room
The Open Science Framework is a free and open-source collaborative project management platform for scientists to manage their workflow across the entire research lifecycle. This workshop will explore features in the Open Science Framework including management and access control to files and data, connecting the OSF to resources like Google Drive and Zotero, as well as OSF Preprints and Preregistrations.
Intro to Tableau (1:00 - 2:15 pm)
Dirac Conference Room
Tableau Public is a free data visualization tool that can turn your spreadsheets and text files into dynamic visualizations that make your data come alive. Learn how to make interactive maps, charts, and graphs that are great for incorporating into presentations.
Data Analysis with MATLAB (2:30 - 4:00 pm)
Dirac Instruction Room
MATLAB is a great programming language for solving problems in various engineering, scientific, and mathematical fields – especially when working with matrices and arrays. This workshop will explore introductory concepts including working within the desktop environment, creating and manipulating matrices and arrays, and importing and exporting data.
